- Until 2016 with the 2.0 TDI (up to 180 hp), then the strong 3.0 V6 TDI (up to 258 hp)
- 4MOTION all-wheel drive, selectable or permanent, often with an 8-speed automatic
- Towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes depending on version
- Load bed wide enough for a Euro pallet to fit crosswise between the wheel arches

V6 or 2.0 TDI – which Amarok is right for me?
The 3.0 V6 TDI has much more power and is ideal for heavy trailers. The 2.0 TDI is cheaper to buy and is more than enough for many everyday jobs.
Does a Euro pallet fit on the load bed?
Yes. On the Amarok a Euro pallet fits crosswise between the wheel arches.
